Always, and the lake

In Always and the Lake, drawing and sculpture come together. Drawing is my way of thinking out loud—on paper, I explore ideas of form, color, and composition. These drawings feel spontaneous, and sometimes awkward, as I search for new forms through gestures and shapes.

Both wall-mounted, small-scale, and free-standing floor sculptures are included. The sculptural works are amalgams—hybrid forms made from fabricated elements and found materials, enhanced by splashes of vivid, saturated color that heighten their idiosyncratic nature.

The wall installation About the Weather, presented here for the first time, creates a dialogue between a series of small sculptures titled some things and singular objects known as Lake Erie Artifacts. The interplay of form, color, and materiality seems to leap from the wall.
