ANOMALY: POND

Installation the pond at I Park

East Haddam, CT
Summer / Fall 2007
Dyed fiberglass artificial flora and fauna, inner tubes, pinwheels and decoy ducks

Anomaly for I Park Pond was inspired by the possibilities of reflection and the ability to perceive the mirror image existing below the surface. The flower blob forms glide buoyantly over the pond on brightly colored inner tubes accompanied by pinwheels and decoy ducks. The forms of Anomaly adorned with artificial flora and fauna appear isolated in the context of the wild lily pond. Their presence in the landscape challenges our expectations of what we should experience within the natural setting. Yet the floating flowers blobs, spinning pinwheels and vibrant decoys manage to find themselves at home in and with nature.
